Imperial Palace
Imperial Palace is a 2,640 room hotel and a 75,000 sq ft casino located on the Las Vegas Strip. From 1959 to 1979 this property was called the Flamingo Capri, then in the late 70′s, it was renamed to the Asian-themed Imperial Palace by then-owner Ralph Engelstad. When Engelstad died in 2002, the casino ownership transferred to his trust, and the property was later aquired by Harrah’s in 2005. If you’re an old car enthusiast, good news for you, The Auto Collections at the Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino is the world’s largest classic car showroom with more than $100 million worth of inventory on display and for sale. There’s more than 250 antique, classic, muscle and historically significant cars are on display and nearly all of them are for sale. For some nightlife background, the Legends in Concert celebrity impersonation series originated here in 1983, and is still going strong as well. For the old-school Vegas feel, a central location on the strip, and some very reasonably priced rooms, Imperial Palace can do the trick.
